Mikkel Vilsbøll Larsen, PhD!

Mikkel has successfully defended his PhD thesis on continuous variable cluster state computation. During the last three years, Mikkel has developed a new scheme for the generation of a two-dimensional cluster state which he has also used for demonstrating a complete set of Clifford gates via measurement-induced operation. Moreover, Mikkel has devised a blueprint for fault-tolerant quantum computing using surface codes for error correction. The work of Mikkel has significantly advanced the field of continuous variable quantum computing. The PhD work was thoroughly examined by the three opponents; Alexander Huck from DTU Physics, Ping Koy Lam from Australian National University and Timothy Ralph from Queensland University.
