DTU Fotonik, the Department of Photonics Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark, is seeking a candidate for Research Engineer in LED systems.

About the position
The research and development area on LED systems is based on competences within new LED system, spectral design, numeric modeling, and optimization of LED optical systems, and on state-of-the-art facilities for testing and characterization of LED systems. With the rapid growth in LED technology, there is an international increase in and urgent need for accurate testing and characterization of solid state lighting (SSL) products. The aim is to be the one of the leading LED light characterization laboratories in the world for testing and benchmarking of LED systems.

The research group heads and participates in research and development projects on specific applications of LED technology, from optical sensing to general lighting.

The interests and expertise of the applicants should be within one or more of the following areas: 

  • Test and characterization of LED systems
  • Luminance camera measurements
  • Goniophotometer measurements
  • Integrating sphere measurements
  • Quality control of LED systems
  • Road lighting
  • Measurement of road surfaces
The successful candidate has a master’s degree in engineering or a similar degree and significant experience in testing of LED systems.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union. The position is available from 1 November 2017.
