Dr. Ikhlaq Sidhu at High Tech Summit 2017

At the High Tech Summit 2017, Open Entrepreneurship's strategic partner Ikhlaq Sidhu from Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology at University of California, Berkeley gave a keynote talk about entrepreneurship in Silicon Valley. He shed light on the Silicon Valley mentality and the corporate culture while pointing out that the customers are a key element in building an entrepreneurial culture.

Ikhlaq Sidhu also shared some great advice for researchers with innovation plans; including to always keep up with current and future trends and not to wait until a product is finished to show it. The road to innovation is in the give and take of steps and missteps.

Dr. Ikhlaq Sidhu is the Chief Scientist and Founding Director of the Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology at University of California, Berkeley. His research topics include engineering leadership, entrepreneurship, technology strategy, technology business models, quantitive technologies, and algorithms to solve business problems and improve firm operations.

Within industry, Ikhlaq Sidhu serves as a venture advisor to Onset Ventures, a $1B Silicon Valley investment firm. He is also a Fellow and Board Member of the Applied Innovation Institute, which connects industry leaders with experts and resources at academic institutions around the globe.
